1. Introduction
Delivre Ltd ("Delivre", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Bring platform, a ridehailing and delivery app. When you use Bring to request a ride, send a package, or drive with us, we collect some information about you. This page explains what we collect, why we need it, and how we protect it.
We do not sell your personal data. We only collect what is necessary to connect passengers and packages with drivers, ensure safety, and improve our services. If anything here is unclear, please reach out at hello@delivre.co.
2. What we collect
The information we gather depends on which Bring app you use. Here is the detailed breakdown of the data we collect:
| Data Collected | Description and Use |
|---|---|
| Account Information | Your name, phone number, email address, and saved locations. Used for account creation, communication, and basic service delivery. |
| Trip & Location Data | Exact pickup and drop-off coordinates collected from the moment you request a ride/delivery until completion. Used to match you with a driver, route trips, and enable live tracking. |
| Device Permissions | With your explicit permission, we access your device location. |
| Payment Information | Transaction amounts, timestamps, payment methods, and trip IDs. Used for invoicing, processing fares, and dispute resolution. (Note: Actual credit card numbers and sensitive transactions data are processed by regulated third parties and never stored on our servers). |
| Usage & Device Data | Device OS version, model, IP address, and app interactions. Used to troubleshoot bugs, monitor app stability, and improve platform performance and security. |
| Communications & Ratings | In-app chats/calls (phone numbers are masked), customer support logs, and trip ratings. Used for customer support, resolving disputes, and enforcing community safety guidelines. |
| Data Collected | Description and Use |
|---|---|
| Account & Verification | Name, phone number, email, government ID, driving license, vehicle registration/insurance, background check data, and profile photo. Used to verify your identity, ensure passenger safety, and build trust. |
| Live Location Data | Precise GPS location data collected continuously while you are logged into the app and online. Essential for matching you with nearby requests, calculating fares, and providing live tracking to passengers. |
| Payout Information | Bank account details or mobile money numbers, along with trip transaction records. Used strictly to process your payouts accurately and generate earnings reports. |
| Usage & Device Data | Device OS version, battery status, IP address, and app interaction metrics. Used to troubleshoot driver app issues, optimize battery usage, and improve reliability. |
| Performance Metrics | Acceptance rates, cancellation rates, user ratings, and in-app communications. Used to maintain overall network quality, handle support tickets, and ensure compliance with platform standards. |
3. Why we collect it
We use this data exclusively to make the platform function effectively and safely. Specifically, to:
- Match and route. Location data and algorithms match the closest available driver to a passenger or delivery request and calculate the fastest routes.
- Ensure safety. Driver background checks, vehicle details, and profile photos help verify identity. Trip tracking allows passengers to share their live status with trusted contacts.
- Process payments. Transaction records allow us to charge riders correctly, pay drivers accurately, process refunds, and generate receipts.
- Maintain quality. Ratings and feedback help us enforce community guidelines and restrict access for users or drivers who repeatedly violate safety or quality standards.
- Provide support. Support logs help our agents quickly resolve disputes regarding fares, lost items, or delivery mishaps.
4. Automated Decision-Making
Like most modern ridehailing apps, Bring uses algorithms and automated systems to power core parts of the experience:
- Dynamic Pricing Fares and delivery fees may automatically fluctuate based on real-time demand, traffic conditions, and driver availability (often called 'surge pricing').
- Matching Our algorithms evaluate driver proximity, route efficiency, and vehicle type to connect requests to the best available driver.
- Fraud Detection & Safety We automatically flag highly suspicious activities, such as fake accounts, payment fraud, or erratic driving patterns. In severe cases, this may lead to an automatic temporary account suspension while our team reviews the activity.
If an automated decision significantly impacts your ability to use the platform (such as an account ban), you always have the right to appeal and request a manual review by a human agent.
5. Who sees your data
Information is only shared to facilitate the service or comply with the law. Here is who may receive your data:
- Other platform users — Drivers see a passenger's first name, pickup location, and destination. Passengers see their driver's name, profile photo, vehicle make, model, and license plate. Contact numbers are always masked during in-app calls to protect both parties.
- Payment processors — Regulated payment processors securely process fares and driver payouts.
- Cloud and analytics providers — Our servers are hosted securely on third-party cloud infrastructure. We use analytics tools to understand app performance, governed by your consent preferences.
- Legal authorities — We will share trip records, location data, or account details if legally compelled by a valid court order, warrant, or in emergencies involving immediate threats to physical safety.
6. Cookies and tracking
On our website, we use cookies to manage sessions and understand user behavior. A banner lets you choose between Accept All and Essential Only.
- Essential cookies Required for the site to function (e.g., logging into the web dashboard, retaining your consent choices).
- Analytics cookies Optional tracking that helps us understand web traffic patterns and optimize our marketing efforts.
For the full breakdown of our web tracking practices, please see our Cookie Policy.
7. Where we store your data and for how long
Your data is stored on encrypted cloud servers. We retain your information for as long as your account remains active. If you choose to delete your account, we delete your profile data within 30 days, at which point you can restore your account before the 30 days elapse.
However, we are legally required to retain specific transaction, trip, and tax records for longer periods (typically up to 7 years) to comply with local financial and transport regulations. We also retain data associated with fraud or safety violations indefinitely to prevent bad actors from creating new accounts.
8. How we protect your information
We employ robust security measures including HTTPS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, and strict role-based access controls for our staff. Passwords are hashed and payment details are tokenized.
While we strive for maximum security, no internet-connected platform is completely immune to breaches. In the event of a data breach compromising personal information, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by law.
9. Your rights
You have full control over your data. You have the right to:
- Access request a copy of the trip and account data we hold about you.
- Correct update inaccurate profile or payment information.
- Delete request full deletion of your account and non-essential historical data.
- Opt out unsubscribe from marketing emails or disable promotional push notifications in the app settings.
To exercise these rights, use the in-app privacy center, email hello@delivre.co, or follow the steps on our Data and Privacy Requests page.
10. A note for Drivers and Couriers
If you drive passengers or deliver packages using Bring, your data is handled with specific operational requirements:
- We conduct continuous verification of your ID, driving license, and vehicle documents to maintain platform safety compliance.
- The driver app requires background GPS access while you are online to match you with requests. Tracking stops immediately when you go offline.
- Dashcams: If you use a dashcam in your vehicle for safety, you are responsible for complying with local surveillance and privacy laws, which may require you to notify passengers that they are being recorded.
- Your performance metrics (acceptance rates, cancellation rates, user ratings) are monitored to maintain network quality. Decisions affecting your account status based on these metrics will always involve a notification and an appeals process.
11. Children and Minors
The Bring app is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. Unaccompanied minors are not permitted to ride. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we discover an account belongs to a minor, we will deactivate it and delete the associated data.
12. Changes to this policy
We may make changes to this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the website, Bring apps or email before the changes take effect.
13. Governing Law
This privacy policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Kenya, and you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya.
